Dr. Godby, has earned a reputation as the Forrest Gump of functional medicine. An avid runner since a young age, Dr. Godby embarked on a literal cross-country run from San Francisco to New York in 2011, averaging a marathon a day, to raise awareness of the power of naturopathic and functional medicine.
He is passionate about preventing the preventable and transforming the health of patients through safe, natural interventions. Dr. Godby has long been a champion of safe, noninvasive medical treatments that help restore the body’s natural vitality. A recognized expert in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), Dr. Godby has helped hundreds of patients in Sacramento and Placer County successfully reverse the effects of age-related hormone decline and feel like themselves again.
For almost 20 years, Dr. Godby has been helping patients in the Sacramento area by creating tailored treatment plans that reflect the specific needs of each individual. He specializes in optimizing each patient’s health and wellness and improving their overall quality of life.
Dr. Godby works one-on-one with patients to provide a truly customized experience. He listens closely and carefully to each patient’s concerns, reviews the patient’s complete medical history, and conducts comprehensive testing to find solutions to their health challenges. From nutrition and exercise programs to innovative treatments and therapies, Dr. Godby creates personalized care plans that address the root cause of health concerns and help patients live their best, healthiest lives.
A Note from Dr. Godby:
My mother was a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sacramento’s Mercy General Hospital, which afforded me the opportunity of hearing many amazing hospital stories. Over her 34 years of nursing, my mom provided care for generations of families throughout the community. To this day, it is the stories of her compassionate care for the “whole” patient and their extended family that serve as an inspiration for my work in the field of medicine.
I have had the opportunity and the privilege to practice medicine in California as a licensed primary care provider. I do what I love – helping people to not only optimize their health and energy, but to also improve the overall quality of their life. I feel honored that I am able to make a difference in the lives of my patients. After witnessing the struggle of my mother and other family members with type 2 diabetes – an almost completely preventable disease – I made the commitment to spend the rest of my professional life on the prevention, treatment and reversal of diabetes and the many other chronic conditions. My goal as a doctor and teacher is to assist patients in living to their fullest health potential, physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritual.

Dr. Godby and all his staff are fabulous. They are all so knowledgeable on all their health products, and supplements. They are always eager to assist you, and help you in any way they can. You definitely won’t be disappointed you stopped in to check them out. I recommend you spend an hour with Dr. Godby, and let him help you to lead the healthier life you have always wanted.
Dr. Godby and his staff will help you achieve your health and fitness goals in a friendly and professional environment. Through monitoring and consulting, he has helped me lower cholesterol, blood sugar and body fat while improving lean muscle percentage and maintaining bone density. I have been his patient now for 5 years and could not give a higher recommendation.
I am canceling my disability claim because I’m getting better! Without the supplements you prescribed I would probably would have gotten weaker. I’m following your anti-inflammatory diet and haven’t had pain for a month. Thank you for finding out what was wrong with me when 3 other doctors said I was normal. I referred you to a friend and will spread the word about your care.
